Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Adults

The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate and the Oblate Lourdes Pilgrimage take very seriously the issue of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

All our volunteers who care for the sick will have current DBS (Britain) or Garda vetting checks (Ireland). The safeguarding representatives for the Pilgrimage are Gerry Bennett and Miriam McDonnell. If you have a concern, no matter how insignificant, please bring it to the attention of Gerry or Miriam. They can be contacted during the pilgrimage at Accueil Notre Dame. After the pilgrimage they can also be contacted via the Mission Office on +353 1 454 2888.

The Oblates of Mary Immaculate have also appointed a Safeguarding Representative: Suzanne Phelan (+353 85 1145391). Should you have any issues about any pilgrim’s safety or well-being before, during or after the event do not hesitate to contact Suzanne.

If, at any stage, you feel there is a safeguarding issue, please contact us immediately.
